New Service: English Language Conflict Counselling

Working at the University, 8 June 2020

Medical specialist Christiana Udeogu-Gözalan under contract for UBT from July 2020

Whereever people work together, conflicts can arise. In order to offer help to those affected by conflicts and to open up reliable ways of resolving conflicts constructively for all those involved, the University of Bayreuth's management issued a guideline for conflict resolution at the workplace years ago and set up a confidential, free external conflict counselling service for employees.

From July 2020, conflict counselling for employees will now also be offered in English. To this end, the proven team of Rudi Wendland, Christine von Aufseß and Klaus Hofmann is joined by Christiana Udeogu-Gözalan.

Mrs. Udeogu-Gözalan is a medical doctor and a specialist for psychiatry and psychotherapy, psychoanalysis with her own practice in Munich. In the future she will be available one day per month for counselling sessions on campus of Bayreuth. Her range of counselling includes conflicts at the workplace, bullying, discrimination, sexual harassment and experiences of racism.

Appointments can be booked via the Diversity Service Center. In addition, the Equal Opportunities Department and the Gender and Diversity Office of the Cluster of Excellence “Africa Multiple” are available for contacts and further support.
